Movie Review: "Project Hail Mary"
Project Hail Mary is currently showing in theaters in the Loveland Area. This is not going to be a traditional movie review for the new film Project Hail Mary. The plot of the movie revolves around a scientist, light years away from Earth, trying to figure out how to stop our Sun from dying. It sounds like a depressing film, it is actually quite hopeful, funny, and emotionally moving. The movie also has something very welcome for today's audiences to see and feel. Project Hai

A Solution to Fixing Downtown Traffic
I am writing concerning the article in the Loveland Daily News concerning traffic in downtown Loveland. I wanted to give my opinion on the matter. I believe downtown Loveland can be a destination and a pass-through at the same time. I am not sure if you have noticed the dramatic improvement in intersection traffic in the local area when Round-Abouts are installed? This is based upon upon the same concept but with modifications. The drawing below gives a much better illu

Friday Listen: Richie Havens, Synchronicity, and the Search for Meaning
Oh, the memories. I’m not sure how I found Richie Havens’ music. I just remember having the CD Résumé in college at Bowling Green State University, listening to it over and over again. I can still see it: lying in my small second-story bedroom off campus, looking out at the streets below, lost in sound and thought. Those were days of deep reflection — not fearful, just uncertain — trying to understand who I was and what I was meant to do. During that time, Follow by Richie

Council Member Adam Jeranek's Response to Article About Downtown Loveland Traffic
I hope all is well with you. Yes I saw the article. I know that city staff is working diligently every day to minimizing traffic in Loveland. If you look at exhibit A of our city council goals 2026 - 2027 you’ll can see that it is a priority. Staff is always trying to secure funding to improve traffic and I am thankful for that. If you look at the goal continuing to build and promote a vibrant downtown by identifying strategies to encourage investment in the downtown distr

Vice Mayor Andy Bateman's Response to Article about Downtown Loveland Traffic
I have been reading the recent opinions in the Loveland Daily and the discussion stemming from it on social media. When it comes to what the city has done to address traffic; I don't think I could adequately list off all the items I've voted on since taking office because it would be too numerous. I don't agree with the premise of the article that downtown Loveland should not have through traffic. I suppose that's because I commute that stretch of road multiple times per day.

Why Is It So Cold Early This Week — and Why It Will Warm Up Quickly

The answer lies in a quick shift in weather patterns across the Midwest — one that will bring a dramatic warm-up later this week. Loveland City Council Members Respond to Downtown Traffic Challenge
In a recent article in The Loveland Daily, Editor Ryan Kulik made a dramatic proposal that the City of Loveland eliminate downtown traffic. Read the article
here. In reality, he was making a case for the city to decide whether it wants our historic downtown to function as a pass through for traffic or as a pedestrian friendly recreation/entertainment destination, arguing that it can’t be both. His article offered no practical solutions to achieve the elimination of downtown

Council Member John Hart's Response to Article About Downtown Loveland Traffic
Traffic is a known issue and something that has had a continuous presence in our council goals in the last 3 goal setting meetings that I have been a part of. We continue to make incremental improvements in this area to try and ease the frustrations. The Mayor and city staff have had meetings with regional and state level entities to try and find and champion solutions which require support from outside our control. We will continue to work on this to the best of our ability,

The views expressed in this commentary are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the City of Loveland, its staff, or other members of City Council. The level of engagement shows how much people care about this topic. The article raises an issue that many residents are already familiar with, downtown

Loveland Winter Sports
By Ronan Wolfer, Loveland High School Student Winter track, technically a club, has been an underground pillar of Loveland’s running programs. For those who don’t know, winter track is a sport run indoors, with all of the same events and structure as outdoor track in the spring. The track is only about 200 meters, but the competition is still fierce. This year alone has been historic, with multiple records broken and a plethora of state-qualifying individuals. Film Review: One Battle After Another
"One Battle After Another" is nominated for 13 Oscars and is the front runner to win Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. "One Battle After Another" is currently streaming on HBO Max. I am a Paul Thomas Anderson fan. I have seen pretty much all of his movies to this point. I have not watched "Phantom Thread", "Licorice Pizza" or "Hard Eight". Every other movie of his, I can check off my list, and "There Will Be Blood" is my favorite of his, and one of my
