Many of our Tiger spring teams are still at the top of their games and also at the top of the conference standings. Olivia Williams notched a career milestone in softball, while our volleyball, tennis, and lacrosse teams have remained red hot. And the baseball team is one of the highest ranked in the area and have the top offense in the ECC.
Baseball
Loveland’s baseball team won three of its four games this week, but did drop their first game of the year against LaSalle, 3-1. In the midst of that, they scored a combined 38 runs in victories over Walnut Hills and West Clermont. They are still atop the conference at 10-1 (8-0) while outscoring opponents 101-40 on the year.

Blake Carrigan remains one of the hottest hitters in the ECC. He launched two home runs and knocked in five in the the Tigers April 15th win over Walnut Hills, to take his season total to five, leading the ECC. Owen Liu scored three runs in their April 17th game, giving him ten on the year. Carrigan isn’t the only “Blake” to start hot. Blake Hatfield is second in the ECC with 17 hits and a .395 average.
Softball
The softball team split their games this week, going 2-2 with wins over Turpin and Ursuline and losses against Little Miami and Milford. They are right in the middle of the pack in the conference at 6-6 (4-4).
Rylee Ripperger collected three hits in the win over Ursuline to raise her average to .452 while Summer Rohlfs is now batting .438 after her own three hit day, while also scoring three runs. Olivia Williams is riding a four-game hitting streak and is 8-14 with eight RBIs and five runs. She also picked up her 100th career hit, a huge career accomplishment!

Lacrosse
Boy’s lacrosse torched Walnut Hills 21-1 this week before falling in an overtime crusher 11-10 to Beavercreek this past week to take their record to 7-2 (3-0). Rocco Filia has six goals and five assists in his last two games and is second in the conference in scoring.

Girl’s lacrosse is also having an exceptional season, going 7-1. They have now won seven straight, notching victories over Fairfield (18-8) and Walnut Hills (14-10).

Boys’ Volleyball
Loveland volleyball only has a single loss on the year, and they’ve won three straight. They handed rival Milford their first conference defeat this past week in three sets. In their most recent straight set win over Lebanon, sophomore Gavin McWaters had a team-leading 15 kills. He’s had double digit kills in five of his last six games and is second in the ECC with 157. The Tigers are 12-1 (7-0) on the year.

Boys’ Tennis
Our Tiger tennis team lost their first match this season to a very good Sycamore team, 4-1, to move to 8-1 (4-0) this season. They are still undefeated in conference play and mowing down their ECC competition, taking down Lebanon and Walnut Hills.

Bode Zappin remains undefeated for first singles this year with a 9-0 (4-0) record so far. The doubles duo of Alex Hill and Marlee Fleming are also spotless at 4-0 (2-0).
