Loveland Young Life

Written by Sean Clore, Loveland High School Student

Loveland Young Life is a Christian institution that is part of a much larger organization that is widely known as Young Life. Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 states and in more than 100 countries all around the world. The goal of Young Life, as stated on YoungLife.org, is “...to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith,” and the organization works toward this goal in many ways. For Loveland Young Life, Wednesday night is when these groups get together, combined with boys and girls, to worship and learn more about Jesus, to deepen their faith.

Loveland Young Life, in particular, runs an Instagram page “@loveland_younglife” which posts dates of events and locations for those activities. Often, there are fun get-togethers where you are encouraged to dress up for a holiday or event, such as Christmas, Saint Patrick's Day, and more. One important concept behind the success of Young Life is the leadership team within Loveland Young Life and the leaders at all schools that have Young Life. Leaders of Young Life are extremely devoted Christians who want to help the future generation give their lives to Christ and submit to the Lord.

Loveland Young Life features 8 total leaders, 4 men's leaders and 4 women's leaders. These leaders are qualified through completing comprehensive training focusing on relational ministry. There are a variety of types of get-togethers that happen in Young Life. The first kind is Campaigners, the entire goal of Campaigners is to be a smaller weekly get together where students who want to know more about faith and discuss the Bible can come without the pressure of any required level of knowledge or experience in the faith. Club is also a weekly get-together, but with a slightly different vibe. Club is chaotic and loud, matched with fun games and interactive activities. Club is a great session to bring friends who are new to the faith in order to show them a good time that is capped off with a powerful message usually given by a leader, or a devoted student, in which all in attendance can be inspired and learn from. For clarification, Campaigners and Club are "weekly events” but do not happen within the same week; it is more of an alternating sort of layout.

Young Life summer camp is a week-long event that many describe as extremely high energy. Camp features resort-style adventure activities, cabin competition, and daily Christian club meetings, aiming to combine intense fun with opportunities for spiritual reflection. Many often claim that camp is the “best week of their lives” (so far), and many students from Loveland High School who have been to camp before gave their lives to Jesus there and have completely turned their lives around. Overall, Young Life is a great organization, and if you are interested, ask a friend about it, and Loveland Young Life will gladly welcome you!
