Loveland High School Sports Weekly Roundup

Updated: Jan 15

It was a stellar first week of 2026 for our Loveland High School teams. Our Boy’s Bowling team remained undefeated and at the top of the ECC. The Girl’s Basketball team put a hurtin’ on Turpin, and Loveland Wrestling journeyed to Reading for a big tournament. As the calendar tuned into a new year, let’s check in on our student athletes as the returned to both school and to the courts, lanes, and mats.

Boy’s Basketball

The Boy’s Basketball squad went 2-0 last week with wins over Walnut Hills and Kings. They now sit at 8-4 overall and 5-2 in the ECC, good for third place. The Tigers are on a five game winning streak and coming off a championship win in the recent Holiday Tournament.

In their 59-50 win over Kings, the Tigers jumped out to a big 15-5 first quarter lead and never looked back. Both Chase Martin and Blake Carrigan put up 20 points in the victory. Martin added nine rebounds and four assists to his stat line to continue his amazing season. He is third in the conference in scoring at 20.5 ppg.

Girl’s Basketball

The girls split their games this week, falling to Walnut Hills but bouncing back to beat Turpin 55-12. In the shellacking Bella Rogers and Katy Wilber combine for 19 points and 14 rebounds. Rogers posted a double double as well and leads the ECC in rebounding at 10.3 per game and she’s third in scoring as well. The lady Tigers are 8-5 overall this year. The Girls team has won six of their last seven contests to rocket up the conference standings, and they too won the Holiday Tournament this past December.

Boy’s Bowling

Loveland Boy’s bowling stayed just as hot in 2026 as they finished 2025. They remain a spotless 7-0 on the year. This past Friday they took down Clark Montessori 2,486 to 1,579 behind Connor Burns (216 avg.) and Kian Bronner (214 avg.). Burns’ average on the year is 210.3, good for third overall in the ECC.

Girl’s Bowling

Our Tiger girls are fighting hard for their first win this season. They had a narrow loss to Turpin back in December and against Clark Montessori recently, and will look to rebound against Carlisle today. Makenna Kirlin leads the Tigers with a 124.8 season average.

Wrestling

This past weekend our Loveland Wrestlers competed at Reading High School for the Charlie Moore Invitational. A host of Tigers brought home some hardware afterwards.

Shane Murray took 3rd at 175, and Reece Webster placed 4th in the 113 pound weight class. In addition, Raleigh Durham took 4th at 144.

In addition, this past week, our Women’s Varsity wrestlers competed at New Richmond High School. Tori Lewis placed 2nd going 3-1 (3 pins) and Cami Martinez placed 5th going 4-1 (4 pins). In addition Kylah Buckner finished 5th with a 3-1 record (3 pins).

Swim and Dive

Loveland Swim and Dive had a meet this weekend, the Princeton Invitational and as you can see from the below, once again Hannah and Isabelle Schroeder continue to dominate. They took first in the 50 free and 200 IM. And on the year, our Tigers in the pool have seen some strong performances by Dane Partusch and Owen Mayer on the boy’s side.

For the girls, Hannah Schroeder holds the top time in the 200 IM at 2:16.94 and the 50 yard freestyle at 25.77, among others. She is absolutely tearing through the competition this season and is just a sophomore, she’s an athlete to keep an eye on for a few more years to come. In addition, senior Isabelle Schroeder leads the way in the conference at the 100 yard backstroke at 1:05.67.

Our Tiger athletes continue to excel in this new year and as we come down the home stretch in our winter sports season we’ll have all the latest coverage here at The Loveland Daily.
