The school year is winding down but the action is ramping up for our spring teams. The conference competition is as tough as it gets and there have been some marquee matchups on the court and in the field. Check out the latest from our Tigers in this week’s edition.

Baseball
Loveland Baseball had an extremely tough schedule to face this past week. They started off strong, blanking Kings 3-0 behind two RBIs for Brady Stidham and a complete game four hit shutout by pitcher Dalton Schottmiller (who is now 3-1 on the year).
But they dropped their next two against very good teams, falling 9-7 to Batavia and then 3-2 on the road against conference leader Turpin. The Tigers had the lead in that one 2-1 entering the bottom of the seventh, but the Spartans plated two in the final frame to walk it off. Loveland is still sitting pretty at 14-4 (11-2) and will face Turpin again on May 12 at home for a chance at a little revenge.
Boys’ Volleyball
To close out the month of April, the Tigers had a trio of big wins against Badin, Kings and Turpin, all in straight sets. Saturday saw an absolutely epic battle versus Elder, but unfortunately Loveland came up short 21-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-15.
They are still a perfect 13-0 in the ECC and will face Milford this week, who is second in the conference at 10-1, in the regular season finale.
Tennis
Tennis remains unbeaten in the ECC at 10-0 and won last week’s Coaches Classic tournament, taking down both Mason and Lakota East. They also beat Lakota West 3-2 on Monday evening.
The tune ups are in advance of this week’s ECC Tennis Tournament. The tigers will seek to dethrone Walnut Hills which has won five straight titles. Loveland’s last was in the 2020-2021 season.

Bode Zappin continues to excel, and has yet to drop a single match all year. According to the Tennis Recruiting Network, Zappin (as a freshman, mind you) is the third ranked player in Ohio and comes in 153rd nationally. The future is extremely bright for this young Tigers star.
Softball
Loveland softball got a solid win over Turpin on Monday night, 17-5. Olivia Williams hit her fourth home run this season and is batting nearly .500 at the same time. They are now 9-9 in 2026 and have five games left in the regular season.

Lacrosse
It was an insane week for our Loveland Boys’ Lacrosse team. Last Wednesday they took down Turpin 15-3. A trio of Tigers all had three goals in Luke Daugherty, Adam King, and Brendon Salm. Austin Boehmer was all over the field, recording four assists.
Saturday ended in a thriller, but Loveland was on the wrong side of a 9-8 loss despite a massive six goal performance from senior Lincoln Boldizsar. They bounced back in a great way against Kings on Monday, though, with a 10-5 victory.
The Tigers continue to dominate the conference leaderboard in terms of goals with Boldizsar, Rocco Filia, and King all in the top five.

Girl’s Lacrosse stormed back for a 15-14 senior night win over Seaton. That is their third straight victory, after wins last week against Cincinnati Country Day and Turpin. Marisa Finley continues to sit at or near the top of the ECC in assists and draw controls. The Tigers are 10-3 and looking to finish the year strong.
