Ohio voters headed to the polls Tuesday to decide several key primary races that will help shape the state’s political landscape ahead of the November 3, 2026 general election — and many of the biggest contests are now officially set.
Among the most closely watched races of the night was Ohio’s U.S. Senate race. Former U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown secured the Democratic nomination and will now face incumbent Republican Senator Jon Husted in November. The race is expected to be one of the most competitive and expensive Senate contests in the country.
In the race for governor, Republican voters selected Vivek Ramaswamy as their nominee, while Democrats chose former Ohio health director Amy Acton. Their matchup will headline Ohio’s statewide ballot this fall as Governor Mike DeWine reaches the end of his term.
Loveland will see contests for Hamilton, Clermont, and Warren county offices including State House and State Senate seats along with county commissions and judgeships.
While many local races and ballot issues varied by county, election officials reminded voters that Tuesday night’s numbers remain unofficial until county boards complete canvassing and certify final results.
Voters can review complete unofficial statewide and local results through the Ohio Secretary of State's live election results page.
The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
