Loveland City School District Superintendent Mike Broadwater has been recognized as one of the country’s “Top 15 School District Superintendents” for 2026 by Education Insider Magazine, an honor highlighting leadership and innovation in public education.
The recognition places Broadwater among a select group of school leaders nationwide who are being credited with shaping the future of education through strong leadership, clear communication, and a focus on student success.
“This recognition reflects the kind of leadership we see every day,” said Jonathan Eilert, president of the Loveland City School District Board of Education. “Through his guidance, our core values of care, respect, and responsibility are evident each day, strengthening our culture and our district.”
According to Education Insider, Broadwater’s leadership stands out for its emphasis on financial restraint and transparency—areas that have become increasingly important as school districts across the country navigate tight budgets and growing expectations. The publication also highlighted his commitment to retaining high-quality staff, a key factor in maintaining strong classroom outcomes.
The magazine described Broadwater as a superintendent who “models calm in tense situations and favors clarity over jargon,” a leadership style that has helped unify staff, students, and the broader Loveland community.
For Broadwater, the recognition is less about individual achievement and more about the people around him.
“It’s humbling to be recognized in this way,” he said. “It wouldn’t be possible without the amazing staff, students, families, and community we have here in Loveland. I’m also thankful for the countless amazing educators I’ve worked with during my 39-year career who took the time to share some wisdom and make me a better teacher and leader.”
Education Insider’s annual list honors superintendents who demonstrate an “unwavering commitment to student success” while taking a forward-thinking approach to improving learning environments.
For Loveland residents, the recognition serves as a national spotlight on the leadership guiding the city’s schools—and a reminder of the role local educators play in shaping the community’s future.
