Loveland Men’s Soccer Kicks Off New Season at the Strongsville National Soccer Showcase

The road to the 2026 high school soccer season officially begins this weekend for the Loveland Tigers as the men’s program joins schools from across Ohio at the Strongsville National Soccer Showcase, one of the state’s premier preseason soccer events.

Held at the Foltz Soccer Complex in Strongsville, the annual showcase brings together dozens of high school and club programs for a weekend of competitive, shortened matches designed to prepare teams for the regular season. The event has grown into one of Ohio’s largest high school soccer showcases, giving players the opportunity to compete against quality opponents from every corner of the state. For Loveland, however, the weekend is about much more than wins and losses. Players are competing for roster spots on both the junior varsity and varsity squads, knowing every minute on the field matters.

Over the course of the weekend, the Tigers will play seven shortened games, allowing coaches to evaluate players in a variety of situations while giving athletes valuable match experience before the regular season begins.

Attending the showcase also allows for team and relationship building- for both players and families. Between games, the players and parents spend time together over breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, creating friendships and strengthening the bonds that make successful teams. Tonight’s activities include a team bowling outing, with hopes of watching the FC Cincinnati in action as they bowl- a fitting way to cap off a day centered on soccer and camaraderie.

As the weekend continues, the scoreboard will matter less than the progress being made. Coaches are evaluating talent, players are pushing one another to improve, and teammates are laying the foundation for what they hope will be a memorable season.
