The City of Loveland announced Saturday morning that its planned Sesquicentennial Vintage Style Baseball Game has been canceled due to weather concerns.
In a public alert sent at 9:56 a.m. Saturday, the city said:
"Due to weather conditions Loveland’s Sesquicentennial Vintage Style Baseball Game has been CANCELLED!"
The game was part of the city’s ongoing 150th anniversary celebration and was scheduled to take place this weekend as one of several commemorative events.
The cancellation comes as unsettled weather moves through southwest Ohio. Forecasts for Loveland call for showers and thunderstorms through much of Saturday afternoon, with the possibility of strong storms bringing heavy rain, hail, and damaging winds.
While conditions are expected to improve later Saturday evening, Sunday’s forecast still includes a chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms, particularly earlier in the day before warmer temperatures move into the region.
At this time, it is unclear whether any additional Sesquicentennial events or other outdoor activities planned throughout the weekend will be impacted. City officials have not announced any further cancellations as of Saturday morning.
Residents planning to attend outdoor events this weekend are encouraged to monitor weather forecasts and check for updates from the City of Loveland through its official communication channels.
