Later this month, a collection of standup comedians will take the mic for an evening of laughs at the Loveland Stage Company. “Punchlines for Prevention” is a fundraiser to benefit the Ben Morrison Memorial Fund (BMMF), a Loveland-based organization focused on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Event organizer, comedian Cody Walker, grew up in Maineville, and is well established on the standup circuit in Greater Cincinnati and beyond.  “I am super excited to put together a really special evening of comedy; to do it at the iconic Loveland Stage Company, and for the benefit of such a worthy cause,” said Walker.

What can attendees expect? Walker promises a robust offering of top-notch, clean comedy acts, suitable for a wide audience (think PG rating). “This will be a night that the whole family can come out and enjoy,” said Walker. “The exact lineup of comedians will be kept under wraps, but we have several big regional names, and will have a national act as part of the lineup.”

BMMF Founder and President Tori Morrison shares Walker’s enthusiasm for the event. “When Cody approached me with this idea, I loved it immediately,” said Morrison. “We are excited to offer something new and different to the City of Loveland and to our supporters. Different kinds of events reach different audiences, and Punchlines for Prevention will definitely do that,” she continued. “And we are thrilled to have it take place at the Loveland Stage Company, to keep it in Loveland.”

Beyond lending his comedic chops to this cause, Walker has a personal connection to the Ben Morrison Foundation; his parents live in Loveland and are longtime family friends with the Morrisons. He is also well versed in recruiting talent for standup events, since he organizes several regular comedy shows throughout Greater Cincinnati.

Punchlines for Prevention, a night of comedy benefiting mental health awareness and suicide prevention, takes place Saturday, September 19, 7-9:00 pm, at the Loveland Stage Company. Tickets are $20 at the door; $15 in advance, and can be purchased at this link. This event is sponsored by BTW Painting, LLC.
