Loveland Schools Earn State Auditor’s Award with Distinction

The Loveland City School District has received the Ohio Auditor of State’s prestigious Award with Distinction, recognizing the district’s excellence in financial management and record-keeping.

The award is presented to school districts and local governments that achieve a clean audit report with no significant financial findings or deficiencies. Fewer than 4 percent of Ohio public school districts earn the distinction each year.

Board of Education President Jonathan Eilert credited Treasurer John Espy and his department for the achievement.

“Our Treasurer, John Espy, and his entire department deserve credit for their hard work in keeping our district’s commitment to the community that we will be fiscally responsible,” Eilert said.

To qualify for the award, organizations must submit audits on time and meet rigorous standards, including having no findings for recovery, material weaknesses, ethics referrals, public records violations, or other significant financial concerns.

Espy emphasized that the recognition reflects the efforts of employees throughout the district. “Thank you to the Treasurer’s Office team, along with every employee of Loveland City School District, for following proper financial procedures and being good stewards of taxpayers’ dollars,” Espy said. “This award is only made possible with a substantial team effort.”

The honor highlights the district’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public funds.
