Shake Shack Comes to the Loveland Area and We Tried it Out

Shake Shack has officially arrived in Mason, just a few miles from Loveland, and after a recent visit, it looks like the popular burger chain should find plenty of fans locally.

I tried the classic ShackBurger, and it lived up to expectations. The burger was very well made, fresh, and packed with flavor. It’s the kind of simple burger that reminds you how good quality ingredients and proper preparation can be.

I also sampled the hot dog with cheese sauce. While the cheese added a nice touch, the hot dog itself was a bit chewy, and the bun was noticeably dry. It wasn’t a bad item, but it didn’t stand up to the burgers.

My son ordered the bacon cheeseburger (all the burgers come with two patties, you can opt for one or three in the customization menu) and thought it was excellent. He also had the cheese fries, which were fine, though if you’re not a fan of crinkle-cut fries, I am not a fan personally,  they may not win you over. The standout side item for him was the cookies and cream shake, which he rated as excellent and one of the best parts of the meal.

Shake Shack offers gluten free, vegetarian, and chicken options. They also have seasonal offerings throughout the year. I have not tried any of these other options, but will in future and update this review as needed.

Inside, the restaurant is on the smaller side, with limited seating. Ordering is done through touchscreen kiosks, which made the process quick and easy, and the food came out promptly.

Shake Shack is a bit pricey compared to standard fast food, but the food quality helps justify it as an occasional treat rather than an everyday stop.

Final Verdict: Great burgers, excellent shakes, efficient service, but limited seating and a few misses on non-burger items. For the best experience, takeout may be the way to go.
