Representing for District 28 at the Ohio Statehouse
Ohio District 28 is strong and ready for a brighter future.

I am running for re-election as your Ohio State Representative because our community deserves a representative who listens, shows up, works across the aisle, and delivers results.
Before entering public service, I was a clinical social worker, providing mental health therapy to children and families. As a therapist, I couldn’t ignore how much State policy impacted the everyday lives of kids. Undermining public education, cutting health care, and failing to address out-of-control prices are just a few examples of how the supermajority at the Statehouse is not serving our kids and families.
So why would a therapist go into politics? I believe we need to expect more from our elected officials. We need to expect more for the future of Ohio. And we need to expect more of ourselves to deliver that future for our kids.
I’ve introduced 16 pieces of legislation to address healthcare access, reduce Medicaid costs, and invest in new housing and infrastructure. I championed bills that support public education, strengthen ethics for legislators, and reduce gun violence.
We must do more to lower housing prices, increase access to healthcare, and give our kids high-quality education.
I am ready to keep doing that work.
The Great 28 deserves a strong voice in Columbus—someone who listens, collaborates, stands up for our communities, and never forgets who they represent.
This fall, I ask for your vote and the opportunity to continue serving as your State Representative.
Karen Brownlee
State Representative
Ohio House District 28
