Miami Township to Host Vintage Baseball Game and Veterans Appreciation Car Show

Miami Township is wrapping up its Second Saturday event series with a day celebrating history, veterans, classic cars and community spirit on Saturday, September 12, at Miami Meadows Park.

The Miami Township Recreation Department will host a Vintage Baseball Game & Veterans Appreciation Car Showat the park, located at 1546 State Route 131 in Milford. Admission is free.

The event will feature the return of the Vintage Baseball Game, with the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum’s 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings taking on the City of Milford and Miami Township’s own Miami Township GOATS.

Vintage Baseball Tournament

The three-team tournament will feature a full afternoon of vintage baseball action.

• 12 p.m. — Cincinnati Reds HOF 1869 Red Stockings vs. City of Milford

• Approximately 1:30 p.m. — Miami Township GOATS vs. City of Milford

• Approximately 3 p.m. — Cincinnati Reds HOF 1869 Red Stockings vs. Miami Township GOATS

The Recreation Department is encouraging residents to come out and support the Miami Township GOATS as they attempt to protect their home turf.

Adding to the festivities, Cincinnati Reds mascots are expected to be available for visitors to meet and take photos at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Veterans Appreciation Car Show

New this year is the Veterans Appreciation Car Show, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The car show is open to anyone interested in displaying a vintage or classic vehicle. Participants can register ahead of time or register at the event.

Food trucks will be available throughout the event, while alcohol sales will be provided by the Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce. The event is being sponsored by Stitch & Style Alterations and Evan's Funeral Home, which the Miami Township Recreation Department thanked for helping make the community celebration possible.
