Loveland Invited to Celebrate 150 Years Through Community Creativity

As Loveland prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary, a new community-wide project is inviting residents of all ages to reflect on the past and imagine the future through art, writing, and video.

Titled “Celebrating Our Past, Dreaming of Our Future,” the initiative is a collaboration between The Loveland Daily, the eXp Designed2Sell Team, and Loveland Schools. The project aims to showcase the creativity of the community while highlighting what makes Loveland special.

Students from primary through high school—as well as adult community members—are encouraged to participate. Younger students are invited to create artwork based on the theme “My Favorite Place in Loveland,” while older students and community members can explore “Celebrating Our Past and Imagining Our Future.” Submissions can include visual art, written pieces, interviews with longtime residents, or short videos capturing life in Loveland today and visions for what it could become.

Selected works will be featured in a public gallery display this summer, with submissions for the physical exhibit due by the end of the school year. In addition, digital submissions will continue to be accepted and showcased online throughout 2026 as part of the city’s 150th anniversary celebration.

Organizers emphasize that participation is completely optional, particularly for educators navigating the busy end-of-year schedule. The project is designed to be flexible—something that can be incorporated into classrooms, completed independently by students, or simply shared with families.

All submissions will also become part of a digital time capsule, preserving a snapshot of Loveland in 2026 to be revisited during the city’s 200th anniversary in 2076.

Community members interested in participating or learning more can submit work or ask questions by emailing mikelovelanddaily@gmail.com.
