I just wanted to say that I really loved your article “Let’s eliminate traffic in downtown Loveland.” I don’t think I’ve ever reached out to a journalist or organization to commend or condemn an article, but there was something about this piece that compelled me to reach out. I really love the points that were made - especially regarding whether we want Loveland to sacrifice the charm for speed.
I do not personally live in Loveland, but I own a dog training business, and I am in Loveland weekly - so I am affected by both aspects. Downtown Loveland is such a great place to train dogs, but can also be a nightmare to drive through, or even find parking at times. For me, the charm has to win out! There are so many places in Southwest Ohio that have abandoned, or altogether skipped any chance at charm to accommodate the masses. The problem with that is now we have plazas, shopping centers, and cities that feel homogenized, and lack the individualized character and charm smaller American cities were built on.
Looking forwarded to seeing how the community responds and hopefully a positive solution can be agreed upon.
